Collections
The collections of the Military Museum cover over 200 000 artefacts. The artefact collections consist of flag, medal, weapon, equipment and art collections. Artefacts from the time when Finland belonged to Sweden up to the present day comprise the collections, with emphasis on the period since Finland won independence. Most artefacts are organised in research collections or stored. Some of the artefacts are placed in other military museums in Finland.
The museum has also a photograph archive in which there are over 200 000 photographs. The archive serves exhibition, research and publication functions.
